Leiwili Kapolei is located on the northwest corner of the Villages of Kapolei, at the intersection of Fort Barrette Road and Farrington Highway.

The Villages of Kapolei is a master-planned community initiated by the State of Hawaii (Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation, or HHFDC) and approved as part of a long-term effort to address Oahu’s growing housing needs. Spanning 888 acres, development began in the 1980s and is now nearing completion. The master plan originally laid out a vision for a vibrant, integrated community with a total of 4,871 residential units, alongside schools, parks, commercial spaces, and recreational amenities. Today, the Villages of Kapolei includes 3,950 residential units, with the remaining housing already pre-approved as part of the larger vision.
The Leiwili Kapolei project represents the final and 10th village within this pre-approved master plan, offering a potential 900 additional housing units within a thoughtfully designed, mixed-use community. As part of this closing chapter, Leiwili Kapolei is dedicated to delivering much-needed affordable and workforce housing, reinforcing the community’s original mission. This project not only fulfills the master plan but also fosters community connection and strengthens Kapolei’s identity as a growing hub for families, workers, and local businesses.
